Mike transferred to this company, GKN Contractors Ltd, and after recruiting a sales team and setting up a sales administration he became responsible for sales to Bulgaria, DDR and the USSR. These projects were primarily for plants to manufacture automotive components. Negotiation of these contracts involved setting up UK government guaranteed, long term credits.

In 1983 GKN Contractors closed and Mike joined Ingersoll Engineers, a firm of consultants to the manufacturing industry. He was responsible for developing new business in Britain and overseas with emphasis on India. At that time the company was involved with introducing new manufacturing systems such as 'Just-in-Time' and Finite Resources Planning.

In 1988 Mike decided to become a teacher and went to Cambridge to obtain a professional qualification. Subsequently he taught in the public and private sectors in Britain.

Mike came to Sweden in 1993 to work for TBV/Eductus, teaching English to technical and commercial groups and to act as a consultant to industrial companies.

He set up his own company, English Language Services, in1997 and works independently - teaching , writing and proof reading English documents. His experience in a wide variety of engineering industries and his exposure to technical, commercial and financial matters provides him with an extensive vocabulary. He has travelled widely and is therefore able to assist in understanding various approaches to doing business.

Mike's spare time activities are related to sailing. He is a qualified Ocean Yachtmaster and a licensed radio operator.
